10. Chartboost

Before Chartboost shows any ad, you need:

A free Chartboost account
Chartboost reviews your app
Waterfall only: you set a price in AdMob

If you stop half-way nothing breaks: Chartboost simply does not bid, and Google keeps filling your ads as before.

You will copy these into AdMob:

Steps

Tick each step when done. Your ticks are saved on this device.

Sign up at platform.chartboost.com/signup and log in after your account is verified.
Open Apps management, click Add new app, fill in your Android app and Play Store link, and click Add App.
On the app dashboard copy the App ID and App Signature.
Click Advanced Settings and note the Named Locations (the Ad Location AdMob asks for, e.g. Default).
For optimization, copy the User ID and User Signature from Resources > API Explorer > Authentication.
In AdMob go to Mediation, click Create mediation group (or open one), choose the format and Android, and add your ad units.
In the Waterfall card click Add ad source, pick Chartboost, accept the agreement prompt, and enter an eCPM value (or switch on optimization with User ID/User Signature).
Click Add mapping, enter the App ID, App Signature and Ad Location, click Done, then Save.
Get your app approved in Chartboost's Publisher App Review and add Chartboost's app-ads.txt lines.

Watch out for

Chartboost will not serve until its Publisher App Review approves the app.

It is a waterfall source in AdMob, so it needs a sensible manual eCPM (or optimization keys) or it rarely gets called.

Missing the Chartboost Maven repo breaks the Gradle build.
