App description templates

Writing a store description from a blank page is hard. Pick the template closest to your app, fill in the blanks about your business, and edit until it sounds like you.

Google Play policy check

    Draft from a template

A fill-in template, not an AI writer: it gives you a clean structure to edit. The counters and the policy check work on anything you type or paste.

    How to use it

    1. Choose the template that matches what your app does (shop, booking, news, tools, community).
    2. Fill in your app name, what it does and who it is for.
    3. Read it aloud and remove anything that is not true for your app.
    4. Paste the short and full descriptions into Play Console.

Be honest about what the app is

Google reviews descriptions against the app. If your app shows your website, say what people can do in it (order, book, read, chat) rather than promising features it does not have. Mention what the app adds on top of the website, such as notifications, offline access or a home-screen shortcut.

Do not list keywords, competitor names or phrases like "best app" or "#1": Play treats them as spam.

    Questions

How long can the descriptions be?

The short description is up to 80 characters, the full description up to 4000.

Can I use the same text as my website?

You can reuse facts, but write it for people deciding whether to install. The first line of the full description matters most.

Do you store what I type?

No. The templates are filled in your browser.

    No app yet?

Turn your website, HTML or ZIP into an Android app first: build it free, with the APK and the Play Store AAB.
