# Update the App - every app you built, one list

Reopen any app in the wizard with every step filled in, or bring it back from its APK

### 1. What it is

Menu → Update the App lists every app built on this phone, in every mode: website, ZIP and HTML apps, AI and AI Studio apps, Live Dev, Documents, Gallery, Audio and Video. One list, one tap per app. Search by name or package, or filter by mode.

### 2. Edit anything, build again

Tap an app: the build wizard opens with every step filled in exactly as you built it, including the icon, splash, music, permissions, ads, push, PIN, side menu, scripts and signing key. Tap any step number at the top to jump straight to it. Change what you need, then build; every step is checked before the build starts.

### 3. It installs over the app people already have

The package name is locked and the app keeps its signing key, including the older shared AppMint key and your own imported keystore. The version is raised for you, and never below the last version you shipped, so phones install the update and Google Play accepts it.

### 4. Apps with no saved project

A row that says Needs the APK is rebuilt from the APK it was built into: apps built before projects were saved, Documents, Gallery, Audio and Video apps, or apps whose saved files were cleared. Tap Find it for me, or pick the APK yourself. Settings, web files, media, icon, splash, music, the PIN and the push setup all come back. Anything the APK does not contain is listed by name.

### 5. Import an app built on another phone

Import from an APK file, at the top of the list, restores an app you built with AppMint elsewhere. If that APK is signed with a key this phone does not have, you are told so and asked to import that keystore in the Signing Key step. The app is never re-signed with a different key without you choosing to.

### 6. Apps with Remote Update

For an app with Remote Update on, Publish an update without rebuilding opens the Remote Update editor for that app, so you can change its content without a new APK.

### 7. The older updaters

The Zip to APK, Web to APK and Single HTML updaters are still there, under Older updaters at the bottom of the list.
